Winter Wild Swim for Cancer Research UK

Congratulations to Royds member Martin Kent for completing his “Christmas Swim Challenge”. Martin raised money for Cancer Research UK by taking the plunge in the somewhat baltic waters of the River Avon at Twyning on December 28th, 2022.

Despite river temperatures being only a couple of degrees above zero, Martin came through to raise £498.75 for the charity, well above his target of £250.00. He celebrated completing the challenge with a hearty lunch at The Fleet pub and restaurant afterwards!

Martin says it was “bloody cold but great fun, and I now appear to be addicted to cold water swimming”.
