A Warm Welcome to our Newest Member

Royds Lodge and its members offers a very warm welcome to Russell Kinson (above right), who was balloted and approved as a joining member in our March meeting. Russell is currently in the chair at West Smithfield Lodge No 1623, and was recently featured in Arena – the magazine of the Metropolitan Grand Lodge for London Freemasons – where it seems he oversaw a very busy meeting! The members and visitors of West Smithfield Lodge No 1623 gathered at Freemason’s Hall on Thursday 21st September 2023 for a very special meeting. Two members were passed to the second degree in an excellent fashion by the Worshipful Master, Russell Kinson. Following this, Suresh Gupta was presented with a 50 year certificate, during which he regaled those present with tales of his journey to the UK from his native India when he was a young man. Furthermore, the lodge also presented the guest of honour from Metropolitan Grand Lodge with a cheque for £5,000 towards the London Air Ambulance Appeal.
