177th Annual Meeting of the Worcestershire Provincial Grand Lodge
The 177th Annual Meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge was held in The Great Hall of the University of Birmingham on the morning of 17th June under the Banners of the Kings Heath Group of Masonic Lodges.
Around 500 attended the meeting, including many distinguished guests from around the British Isles.
The meeting included the appointment of two new Assistants to the Provincial Grand Master, and our congratulations go to the Rev Justin Parker and Paul Wong on their well deserved appointments.
Among the appointments and promotions conferred during the meeting, there were appointments and promotions for a number of brethren from the two lodges meeting in Malvern. Congratulations to all concerned. It was somewhat unusual for three members of Royds Lodge to be promoted on the same day to the same rank and special congratulations to Dave Barnett, Dr Mark Cooper and Tony Underhill, our current master, on their preferment.
Finally, the head of Freemasonry in Worcestershire, Stephen Wyer, presented a certificate of Merit to Patrick Firminger for his chairing of “Festival 2022”, which was received to resounding applause. Festival 2022 was a period of intense fundraising activity that raised charitable donations to the astounding sum of £2,109,672.00
